The BC Cowboy Hall of Fame
The BC Cowboy Hall of Fame was started in 1998 by the BC Cowboy Heritage Society
(www.bcchs.com)
and we, at the Museum of the Cariboo
Chilcotin, are proud to say that we are now its permanent home!
In conjunction with the BC Cowboy Heritage Society the Museum also administers the nomination side of the Hall of Fame.
See details, including links to a nomination form and a complete list of inductees below.
The deadline for nominations annually is December 1st. Shortly after this date the Museum hosts a meeting where
several committee members get together to select the inductees from the list of nominations. Representation from several
groups including the museum, the BC Cowboy Heritage Society, the BC Rodeo Association, and the BC Cattlemen's Association
make up this committee with one of the Hall of Fame inductees.

Cowboys on horseback have been working cattle for as long as history has been recorded! No one, yet, has found a substitute
for a skilled cowboy. It is important to note that some of these cowboys are in fact, women, and a big percentage of them
are First Nations cowboys! See more about the First Nations in their section of the Museum.
