The Williams Lake Stampede

The Cariboo Chilcotin area is well known for its large number of ranches, and it's the cowboys from these neighbouring ranches that started the Williams Lake Stampede in 1919 ... and it is still going strong today!

This rodeo has now grown to be a major event that is recognized worldwide and the complete story from its beginning to present day, including all the rodeo queens, notable cowboys, and spectacular events, is featured in the museum along with a huge collection of photos and memorabilia!

The Williams Lake Stampede is not the only rodeo the museum features. There's also the Annual Williams Lake Indoor Rodeo, and tons of history on both the BC Rodeo Association, and the BC High School Rodeo Association. (see Rodeo)
