Located at 1660 Broadway Ave S, Williams Lake, the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin hosts a collection of nearly 30,000 artifacts relating to the diverse histories of the Cariboo Chilcotin region.

With the largest saddle collection in western Canada, we have a number of intriguing western exhibits. We are also the home of the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame, a collection of artifacts, archives, photos, and narratives about the many individuals who operate ranches or compete in western-style competitions. Other displays include artifacts relating the Williams Lake rodeo as well local First Nations. The museum also has a number of temporary and seasonal displays planned every summer.

Come visit us in Williams Lake, BC, just off Highway 97 on South Broadway Ave. We have dedicated accessibility parking, wheelchair ramps at the main entrance, and elevator access to all floors!

The museum also provides research services at no cost to individuals who are looking for information on local history topics. We can provide assistance to researchers or conduct the research ourselves, though it may take us some time to prepare. Please allow up to five business days for museum staff to answer correspondence.

The museum also hosts a number of fundraisers every year, including the Cariboo Country Christmas, Teas and Bake sales, and other fun functions. Check out our Events tab for more information.
